I am currently 15 years old, I’m someone whose curiosity has always gotten the better of them. So this year after watching my friends compete and being fascinated by the breathtaking feats they accomplished I decided to join them.
When I accepted th team’s offer to participate in the project I did so with the hope of learning about new fields of knowledge that had caught my attention for a long time before I ever knew of this project. When I was offered the chance to join, it was like the long awaited chance to delve into this world of mechanics and innovation was dancing before my eyes.
As I already mentioned my curiosity tends to get the better of me which has a noticeable repercussion on how I spend my time. But I spend most of it reading and writing either in a world of my own creation with its own inventions crucial to its survival or in one on someone else’s.
Though probably the most remarkable and relevant to this project is helping my father fix things on our old sailing boat, like the engine that in my memory has never worked. Just this past summer its gear box stopped working, the reason for which it did is still unknown. As Lauren Roberts once wrote, «Knowledge is power, but knowing your limits — and defying them — is the real magic».
